Living proof that time flies when you’re having fun

Ah, 2011. A truly momentous year.

Game of Thrones burst onto our screens, forever changing Sunday nights (and our expectations of weddings). A young whippersnapper named Novak Djokovic nabbed his first Wimbledon title, hinting at a future reign of terror on the tennis courts. And Steve Jobs, ever the trendsetter, decided to take a break from Apple.

But let’s be honest, while those events were all well and good, they pale in comparison to the true highlight of 2011: Darren Crabb joining Proteus!

Our Very Own “Brains”

Seriously, where would we be without Darren? He’s our resident programming wizard, the quiet genius who can seemingly build “anything.” Give him a tough brief, a bit of encouragement, and (most importantly) some Haribo or even a block of marzipan (yes, he’ll even gnaw on it slowly, block by block), and suddenly, inspiration strikes like a bolt of lightning.
Remember Brains, the super-smart engineer and inventor from the classic British TV series, Thunderbirds? The one who cooked up all those incredible gadgets for International Rescue? Well, Proteus has Daz.

For a remarkable 14 years, our very own creative genius has been inspiring us with his musical talents, his coding wizardry, his incredible 3D models, and now, his mind-bending AI creations.

So today, we’re raising a collective glass (and perhaps offering a sacrificial gummy bear) to say a massive thank you and pay tribute to 14 years of unwavering dedication from the one and only “Brains” of Proteus, Daz.
